Dr. Allawnha (pronounced ala-wanna) was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Windsor, and afterwards was employed as an Emergency Department Nurse in Detroit, Michigan. He then relocated to Morgantown, West Virginia to pursue his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree at West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He maintained his employment as an ED Nurse until his graduation from Dental School.
Dr. Allawnha is a warm and compassionate Dentist, who genuinely cares about the comfort and happiness of each of his patients. He listens thoroughly, and will go to any length to get to the root cause of a patient's discomfort, or dental issue. His experience as an Emergency Department Nurse has taught him the importance of connecting with his patients, and he has seamlessly integrated this great level of care into his dentistry.
He has a fascination with the dental field and feels truly blessed to have found his passion in his professional work life. He loves to learn, and thoroughly enjoys remaining up to date on dental techniques and technologies as the field of dentistry progresses. Dr. Allawnha prioritizes the best interest of his patients and maintains the highest level of integrity in his practice to coincide with his core values.

Dr. Allawnha is thrilled to be putting down roots in Pinellas County, and looks so forward to becoming a part of the beautiful St. Pete Beach community. In his time outside of the office, Dr. Allawnha has many hobbies and interests, and is always enthusiastic about learning, and trying new things. He loves to travel, exercise, spend time outdoors, stay updated in technological current events, cook and try new cuisines, and spend time with his Wife, Family, and Friends.

Dr. John Penny graduated from Seminole High School, right here in Pinellas County, before attending the University of South Florida for his undergraduate education. He continued on to the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery there.
Dr. Penny is dedicated to keeping abreast of the ever-changing world of dentistry, as new technology emerges all the time. He understands the vital importance of keeping up to date, and is able to use the latest techniques and equipment to ensure that his patients have access to the latest diagnostic and preventive treatment methods.

Dr. Penny believes in giving back to the community that has given him so much over the years. So he spends a lot of his free time outside the practice contributing to the growth and development of the area by sharing his knowledge of health and dentistry, and promoting healthy, active lifestyles for all. Dr. Penny volunteers his time with the Pinellas County Health Department to provide dental care to low-income patients, and sponsors many local charities and community fundraisers.
Outside the office
Originally from Lake Charles, LA, Dr. Penny has lived in St. Pete Beach since 1976. He and his wife have raised a son and two daughters, and their home is now full with six dogs, three cats, a parrot, and three horses. Dr. Penny enjoys spending his free time outdoors, whether with his family or fishing, playing tennis, or scuba diving.
